Class Descriptions ​

​We've organized our classes by pace, so you can feel encouraged to try the pace that feels good to you. We are typically open 15-20 minutes before and after class. Feel free to bring your own yoga mat, or rent a $2 mat from our limited supply in the studio.  We provide all the other props you will need. Wear comfy clothes that you can move in!

Slow Pace:

Beginner Yoga: 
The beginner class is designed as an introduction to the practice of yoga, breath work and meditation.  Class is slower paced and  and introduces fundamental yoga practice emphasizing alignment and breath work. Students will be introduced to yoga postures through step-by-step verbal description and demonstration. Emphasis is placed on student understanding, safety, and stability within each pose.  This class is for those new to yoga and those seeking continued understanding of all facets of yoga.
Energy Medicine Yoga: 
Energy Medicine Yoga is an integrative yoga practice accessible to students of all levels. The power and comprehensive practices of EMYoga incorporate pranayama (breathing practices), meditation, visualization, journaling, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) tapping, nutrition, diet, body image, and belief systems. The practice includes asana poses, breathwork, meditation and Energy Medicine techniques such as acupressure holds, Neurolymphatic Reflex self-massage (a unique and powerful way of working with and clearing your lymphatic system), and energy channel clearings. EMYoga will help unlock the language of your body to amplify your healing power – mind, body, and spirit. The beauty of energy work is that it translates into every facet of your life—from what, how, and when you eat to how you think and how you feel about your body, mind, and life. It only starts on the mat. EMYoga touches every area of your life because energy touches every area of your life. The result of this practice is a deep love, appreciation, and acceptance of yourself just as you continue toward your best self. This is one of the most powerful takeaways: self-love. From that place, all healing, transformation, contentment, and peace are possible. Being in flow with life, having gratitude for your very existence and experiences, joy at your abilities, compassion for others—these are the gifts life has to offer and the fruits of your EMYoga practice.
Intro to Aerial Yoga: 
Learn the basics of what Aerial Yoga is, what makes it different and why it is beneficial to your life and yoga practice.  
This class will teach you how Silks Yoga benefits your body, mind and floor practice.  In this class you will be taught the basics of each hang, how to adjust and modify the fabric and postures!
Yin Yoga: 
Yin Yoga allows the body to expand and revitalize while slowing down the mind. From this space, one can find greater understanding of self through the wisdom of the body and mind.This class focuses on the use of gentle postures, and breathwork, while highlighting meditation in this profound and impactful practice. This class is suitable for all bodies of all experience levels. Come and connect with yourself at Yin Yoga.
Chakra Journey: 
Chakras are 7 energetic centers through which our energy flows. When our emotions are out of balance, these centers can become blocked and create illness in the body, mind and spirit. In this mat-based class, we will use breathwork, yoga postures, techniques from the Kundalini and Kriya Yoga traditions, meditation and free movement to heal and balance one chakra at a time or a group of chakras in harmony. This class is for all levels including beginners.
Kundalini Yoga: 
This 75 minute all levels class will introduce students to the transformative practice of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation where we work with and harness the mental, physical, and nervous energies of the body. This class will combine breath work with postures, and mantras to balance to the body, mind, and soul. Generally, every class will include a yoga set for a specific purpose (such as strengthening the nervous system or balancing the right and left hemispheres of the brain) followed by a meditation and deep relaxation.

Medium Pace:

Aerial Yoga All Levels: 
This class offer's the practitioner a well rounded experience of aerial yoga. The sequencing, postures and transitions offer a safe and fun guided class. Learn how to use the silk to stretch deeper and access more space in your yoga postures. Experience decompression of the spine by hanging with fabric. Rediscover your practice and body through this multidimensional yoga practice!
Aerial Yoga and Barre: 
Aerial Yoga and Barre is a fun class designed to balance the body and lift the spirit.  Class will be partially guided using the aerial hammock for alignment, flexibility and inversions and partially using the Barre (or hammock as a Barre) for a high-energy, high-repetition booty and leg workout synchronized to music.  Fly in the fabric, Dance at the Barre, and find inner peace!
Aerial Yoga for Flexibility and Strength: 
This class is for all levels, beginner to advanced. Aerial Yoga for Flexibility and Strength targets body mobility and flexibility and builds strength. Includes some heat building with aerial sequencing, postures and inversions. A basic understanding of aerial postures is recommended but not required.
Prana Barre: 
Prana Barre at Yoga Hive is based on the elements of Yoga, Pilates, Breathwork and Ballet. The movements consist of yoga principals and high energy, low impact, fat burning exercises. With an emphasis on posture and technique, we create long lean muscle. Participating in Prana Barre creates a newfound awareness of the your body and strength and an appreciation for intelligent movement.
Honey Flow: 
Honey Flow is a class that focuses on proper alignment, conscious breathing and mindfulness. Emphasis is placed on longer held poses, flexibility, balance and concentration. The intention of this class is to relax and rejuvenate the body and calm the mind. A great class for those interested in stronger postures, basic alignment principles, and adapting more challenging poses for their own limitations if needed. All levels encouraged and supported.
Cycle Yoga: 
All levels “Cycle Yoga” begins with a fun 30 minute ride on a stationary bike that is musically calibrated. This class teaches the basics of the cycle postures, body alignment and awareness. This is followed by a 30 minute stretching and alignment based yoga practice on the mat to lengthen the muscles, ground the soul and open the heart.

Fast Pace:

20/20/20: 
If you have one hour and want to develop cardiovascular fitness, strength, flexibility and torch some calories, this is the class for you!  In this class we will spend 20 minutes spinning on the bike, 20 minutes strength training and 20 minutes in a yoga practice focused on core, balance and flexibility.  All in a fun, high energy environment where you can do a lot in 60 minutes.
