When behaviors are programmed, what we can also call habits, not a lot of conscious thinking goes into them so it’s not exactly correct to call them choices. We’ve stopped actually making choices and the behaviors just happen.
Habit energy is powerful. It allows people to go about their lives without having to waste all that extra emotional energy constantly deciding among various options, an anxiety inducing experience, as anyone who has been forced to a really important decision can attest. Habits are like cruise control, allowing you to take your mind off one important variable so that you can focus more of your attention on others. When you drive a car, you just do it. That’s habit energy. But also, when you scroll Instagram instead of going to exercise, that’s habit energy too.
Enter Energy Medicine Yoga.
Habits are undoubtedly hard to break, however, when we work with the energy surrounding the habit, change can be much easier. Upgrading your habits is so difficult not because you don’t realize you’ll be better off, but because energetic resistance increases when familiarity decreases.
Energy Medicine is both ancient and cutting edge, both science and art. So is Yoga. In this course, we use proven techniques to decrease energetic resistance, unlearn old programs, and simultaneously establish new habits we want. We use tapping, repetition, brain hemisphere science, neurological programming and energy calming techniques so our energy will stop fighting change and actually support it. I was hesitant to sign up for the Energy Medicine Yoga course because I didn’t know what it was. Even though I’ve practiced yoga on and off for years, I had never heard of Energy Medicine Yoga. About Blaine Wilkes
Blaine Wilkes is a Certified Energy Medicine Yoga Master Teacher under Energy Medicine Yoga founder, Lauren Walker. Blaine is also currently studying to become an Eden Energy Medicine Practitioner (EEM-AP) in Donna Eden's Certification Program. Blaine has traveled to India for advanced training as a meditation teacher and kriya yoga teacher, and spends her time learning about Ayurveda (ancient Indian medicine) and ancient Chinese medicine.
In Energy Medicine Yoga, you learn asana practices (physical postures) that incorporate poses and moves to access your underlying energy. Some of the poses look similar to yoga poses you may already be familiar with. Others will be complete departures from standard yoga and are used to influence specific flows of energy. You’ll use the electromagnetic energy of your own body, often with your hands, to affect the energy in your body. Energy Medicine Yoga is an integrative yoga practice accessible to students of all levels. The power and comprehensive practices of EMYoga incorporate pranayama (breathing practices), meditation, visualization, journaling, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) tapping, nutrition, diet, body image, and belief systems. The practice includes asana poses, breathwork, meditation and Energy Medicine techniques such as acupressure holds, Neurolymphatic Reflex self-massage (a unique and powerful way of working with and clearing your lymphatic system), and energy channel clearings. EMYoga will help unlock the language of your body to amplify your healing power – mind, body, and spirit. The beauty of energy work is that it translates into every facet of your life—from what, how, and when you eat to how you think and how you feel about your body, mind, and life. The Five Elements and You

An introduction to the ancient wisdom and modern science of Chinese Five Element philosophy and how to embrace all elements for spiritual, emotional and physical vitality.
This is a small, limited enrollment group experience!
What is the Five Element System?
Every single one of us and every living thing on earth is a unique embodiment and combination of the Five Elements. Truly, the Five Elements are a metaphor, developed long ago to explain Chi – life force energy - and the way energy shapes everything on the face of the planet. The Elements are in a state of constant change and transformation and the patterns of its movement cycle create and sustain all living things.
The body is always seeking balance and so is energy! There is ever-present yin and yang, a constant push and pull, or better, a vibrant DANCE, among forces. Think of your breath: it is a cycle. The lungs open and expand to let breath in and then things reverse to let air out. Even as the body is letting air out, shifts are happening simultaneously to prepare for the next breath in.
This dance is the prism by which all things happen: the seasons, the sunrise, changes in your body, your emotions, and disease.
The Five Elements is the lens though which Chinese Medicine treats disease. We get sick because of imbalance in our body. In this course we will examine all the elements and where we personally have opportunities to correct our imbalances to result in a more vital and thriving spirit, body and mind.
Looking at health and sickness through the lens of the Five Elements is a remarkable way in which to see yourself and others, for insight into the reasons and patterns that attract diseases, and for finding joy, health, and fulfillment. When the energetic systems in our body are balanced and healthy, we feel stronger, happier and better able to handle whatever is happening in our life. In this course, you will begin to learn to identify which of the five elements—Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal --most directly influences your physical, emotional, and spiritual being, and which imbalances in these energies may lead to particular physical, emotional, and spiritual disorders.
Details about the course:
We will meet for 7 weeks, every other week for 2-hours, one night a week (TBD).
You do not need to make the meetings live to join the course! It will all be recorded and just as effective done on your own time.
Each module is two weeks and we’ll have two weeks between each meeting so we can fully study and explore the element within our own energy and daily life before we shift to another focus. In each module, we will also have a 30 minute practice that we’ll use to help us fully explore each element within us, our habits and our environment.
You do not need to join the meetings live, they are recorded, and you will have opportunity to meet with Blaine one-on-one. The 30 minute practice for each module will also be a separate video for easy access for ongoing practice.

If you are local to Yoga Hive Colorado you can pick up your copy or it will be mailed to you. This book is no additional charge and we will use it to guide us through the course. We will also use supplementary handouts and materials specific to the content of each 2-week module.
We also have an individual aspect to this course!
Every participant will have two 30-minute meetings with Blaine to discuss your specific and unique energy and receive Energy Medicine techniques specifically for you. This can pertain to a disease pattern you have, a life circumstance such as grief, infertility, menopause, stress or chronic fatigue, or anything else you feel that increased energetic focus will help you move through with more ease.
